Jenny de la Hoz
What do you do at CEI?
An equity facilitator with CEI’s Implementation Team, Jenny de la Hoz has over 20 years of experience leading individuals and groups through learning experiences using multiple methodologies. From instructing circus educators in Mexico about family science to delivering ocean science on Univision’s Despierta America, Jenny uses her lived-experiences to make equity and inclusion tangible, pragmatic, and interdisciplinary.
What did you do prior to CEI?
Jenny is a lifelong learner and holds a Master’s degree in Multicultural Education, a certificate in Marine Resource Management, and a PhD in Science Education. She has done quantitative research, qualitative research, and evaluation on programs, public exhibits, and organizations. She has coached leaders of non-profit, for-profit, and public sector organizations in science communication, leadership, strategic planning, and equity implementation.
Among her prior work before joining CEI, Jenny worked as an instructor at Oregon State University, a partnership manager and cultural program creator at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and urban community specialist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. She has presented at numerous conferences in both English and Spanish on topics ranging from education to marine science. She has served on several boards and is currently a member of Latinas Associated for Collaborative Endeavors (LACE).
