What do you do at CEI?
I offer administrative support for the office, as well as program support for the Equity Certificate for School Leaders Program. I do a lot of the behind the scenes work such as data compilation, file management, event planning and logistics.
What did you do prior to CEI?
I’ve spent the past two years working for a Portland non-profit as a student success advocate. I mentored and tutored 9th grade students as a part of an after school school program that focused on building strong relationships with students and families through advocacy, consistent communication and commitment to equity. I have also been on the organization’s facilitation team for the past year and continue to support both camps and retreats for students during the summer months and throughout the regular school year.
Why do you do this work?
I do this work because it matters and it leaves me feeling validated and fulfilled. This work positions me as a learner everyday, and everyday I am re-energized and motivated by the commitment, wisdom, and resilience of the people that I have the pleasure to work with.
What do you believe in?
I believe in the power of growth and the importance of prioritizing growth as the central focus of my personal and professional life. I believe that when I do this, I benefit in all areas of my life.
What is a question that guides your work?
